Robert and Jayne Dane opened the Dane Gallery in 1996.

They represented the finest contemporary artists working in glass. The Dane Gallery closed at the end of 2016 after over two successful decades of bringing the best of Studio Glass to Nantucket. Through their efforts many people developed an appreciation for glass art, and as a result many beautiful pieces grace homes, yachts, and museums, both on and off island.

One of the highlights of being part of the Nantucket community was bringing the Corning Museum of Glass “Hot Glass Roadshow” to Nantucket for “Hot Glass Nantucket”, once to benefit the Artists Association of Nantucket in 2007, and twice to benefit the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club in 2012 and 2016.
